Hand-cut craft,
West Asheville proud.

A six-chair shop on Haywood Road, cutting hair the right way since 2015. Fades sharpened blade by blade. Beards sculpted with intention. Hot-towel shaves that slow the morning down. Walk-ins always welcome — because the best appointments sometimes aren't made in advance.

How a Chair
Actually Goes

The Consult

Every appointment or walk-in starts the same: we listen. What you want, how you live in it, what's been bothering you about the last cut.

The Cut

Clippers, shears, or both — whatever the shape calls for. Fades blended by feel. Every line set by eye and confirmed by hand.

The Hot Towel

Warm towel, straight razor, shave oil. A proper finish that department stores can't replicate. The detail that separates a haircut from an experience.

The Finish

Product if you want it. A mirror all the way around. You leave looking like yourself — only sharper.

The Services

Six chairs, two barbers, one standard — hand-cut and done right. Call us or walk in to ask about availability and pricing.

Skin Fade

A tight, blended fade from skin up — the precision cut Crown & Comb built its name on. Finished clean at the temples and neckline.

Scissor Cut

All shears, no guards. For the hair that needs to be shaped by feel — textured, layered, and lived-in, not clipped flat.

Beard Sculpt

Line, taper, and shape with a straight razor edge-up. Your beard structured the way you want to wear it, not the way the trimmer defaults.

Hot-Towel Shave

Warm towel prep, straight-razor shave, cool finish. A ritual that slows the morning down and leaves the skin like new.

The Full Service

Cut, beard sculpt, and hot-towel shave combined. The complete Crown & Comb experience — for when you have the time to do it properly.

Kids Cut

A proper cut for the younger crowd — unhurried, precise, and finished clean. For kids who sit still and kids who don't.

Pricing varies by service and barber. Call (828) 555-0142 or walk in to ask what's available today.

The Men

Specialties

Fades & Designs

Marcus founded Crown & Comb on Haywood Road in 2015 with a single chair and a reputation built in two previous shops. His fades are precise enough that clients have driven from Charlotte to sit in his chair. The designs he cuts — geometric, freehand, razor-etched — are a separate craft he treats with the same seriousness. Off the clock he is quietly studying the history of Black barbering in the American South; it informs everything he does behind the chair.

Specialties

Beards & Classic Cuts

Theo joined Crown & Comb after five years at a traditional barbershop in downtown Asheville. His patience in the chair is as notable as his technique — clients who have been coming to him for years describe the experience as having a standing conversation that happens to end with a great haircut. His hot-towel shaves have their own following, and his classic scissor work on longer hair is something few barbers in the region can match.

Crown & Comb
West Asheville

A six-chair shop on Haywood Road, cutting hair the right way since 2015.

Crown and Comb barbershop — the room and the craft

Crown & Comb opened on Haywood Road in 2015 with one belief: that a proper barbershop is still necessary, and that West Asheville was the right place to build one. The neighborhood was changing, but the need for a shop that cut hair by hand — thoughtfully, without rushing the chair — hadn't changed at all.

The shop has six chairs. On a busy Saturday every one of them is working. Fades blended without timers. Beards consulted before they're touched. Hot-towel shaves that respect the ritual they come from. Walk-ins have always been welcome here, because some of the best barbershop relationships begin with someone who just wandered in off Haywood with twenty minutes to spare.

"Old-school craft, modern edge."

A fade in progress under tungsten light at Crown and Comb

The barbers here — Marcus and Theo — came up differently but arrived at the same standard. Cuts are never rushed. Conversations are never forced. The chair is yours for however long the work takes. That's the Crown & Comb way, and it hasn't changed since the doors opened.

We are open Tuesday through Friday, 9 to 7, and Saturdays 8 to 5. Walk-ins are welcome every day we're open. If you'd prefer to guarantee your time, book online or call us at (828) 555-0142.
